Interflora at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show: Building the exhibit

Our exhibit has been designed and created by award-winning Interflora florists David Ragg and David Denyer and is entitled ‘The Message’.

Florist Window competition entries – Update!

deckchairs on a beachUpdate: Due to the fantastic response from our Florist Window competition, we are now extending the deadline to 12 noon on Monday 14th May, so there is still time to submit your seaside inspired entries and to vote for your favourite window!

Voting will continue until 16th May, with the winner being announced later that week.

Listed below you will find the photographs for each entry, including the florist that created them. All you have to do is vote for your favourite by posting a comment below!

The winner will win a pair of tickets to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, plus a hamper worth £100! The runner up will receive a pair of tickets to the show.

Mother’s Day around the world

Although for us in the UK Mothering Sunday whizzed past in March, there’s also International Mother’s Day to come. This year it falls on Sunday May 13th.

It started off in America with Anna Jarvis. She made Mother’s Day official after her own mother campaigned for it for so long. It is now a day to celebrate mothers all around the world. And don’t forget that if you want to say thank you to someone in America then you can send flowers to the USA.

Mother’s Day in the US has no connection to our own Mothering Sunday. Early American settlers from England dropped the idea of Mother’s Day, most likely because they wanted to pursue a more conservative Christian life and the day wasn’t considered a holy enough festival to continue.

Spalding Flower Parade 2012: In pictures

More than 70 years on from its original conception, the Spalding Flower Parade is still going strong and this year’s event was no exception. Interflora was there to take in all the sights and sounds of the parade and we loved every minute of it, from the colourful costumes and amazing dancers to the great atmosphere and, of course, the beautiful flowers.

The RHS Chelsea Show Interflora Florist Window Competition

Beach with bucket and spadeLast year we ran an Interflora florist window competition to tie in with the events at RHS Chelsea and it was such a success we are doing it again!

We were incredibly inspired by the designs of our florists and have decided to theme all of the entries around the seaside! With all the rain around at the moment we all need cheering up and what better than sun, sea and sand combined with a beautiful floral display to put a smile on our faces?
